Thanks to those of you who made it out to the Vagina Monologues. The show was sold out in 2 weeks and reached capacity at 850 seats! I had a great time working with the other talented ladies in the cast and I was extremely proud to participate in the first ever pan Asian reading of the show. Asian vaginas in the house! I performed a monologue where I had to create 20 orgasmic moans including a triple orgasm moan. Let me tell you, it was not an easy piece to do. I think I sprained my neck in the end there.

Initially, I thought the monologue would be fun because I get to be crazy on stage and do a lot of moaning, but really if you just stand on stage and moan and think you're being funny, there's absolutely nothing interesting about it AT ALL. In fact, you look pretty stupid. So, I had to do a lot of...ummm, research for this role. Well, I did my acting work (don't fret) but unfortunately my neighbors are now a little curious as to what was causing all the moaning in my house because you know it's just me and my dog, Stella. Here's a picture of her. I know, she's quite a turn on. Anyway, the monologue was a hit, if you look up online to read the piece, it was entitled "The woman who loved to make vaginas happy." How can you argue with that title?

In other news, "Nanking" has just been picked up domestically by Thinkfilms and you will be able to see this incredibly moving documentary both here in the United States and internationally later this year. It will also be making a premiere at the Hong Kong film festival.

"Live!" will be premiering at this year's Tribeca film festival, so see you guys in New York, one of my most fave cities in the world. I've never actually been or "done" the Tribeca film festival, but I love indie films and find myself consistently inspired and delighted by them.

What inspires you?

Love,
michelle

i've watched a monologue here at Silliman and it's quite the show. it was both hilarious and eye opening. empowering as it is, it didn't fail to give you a sense of entertainment. i loved the vagina monologues. actually, it was translated into tagalog, our native language, and was entitled USAPING PUKI, still of Eve Ensler's \. anyway, i read through someones blog about the show and im guessing you delivered a pretty fascinating and definitely hilarious monologue. hope we could have you sometime back here in asia. as an ASIAN, what more better way to express your nationality than engage in activities with your CO-asian. as i've posted before and now reiterated, FILIPINOs are WARM, and we extend our arms to other ASIANS, not just OUR COMMUNITY. Good DAy. nice to hear from you MS. Kruseic. nice family name. cool!

I'm one the fans that was able to make it to the show! Yeehaw! It was nice meeting you again Michelle! I think during the performance you moan a little too much that your throat was sore. I remember seeing you walk off-stage and coughing. Poor thing!
Anyway, I took some pictures of the show. Michelle fans can read my whole experience at my blog.

Hey Michelle, wish I could have come see this show. Bet it would have been interesting. I'm constantly inspired and fascinated by the work done by Asian artists outside of Asia. I think to some degree, there is greater freedom for actors to express themselves compared to the body of work in Singapore where censorship is tighter. Not to say there isn't a good body of work done in this part of the world.

It would be great to see you in action in a local sitcom in Singapore in collaboration with some actors here, maybe something with some comedy in it? If you are ever thinking of venturing out to this part of the world, maybe you can hock up with Fly Entertainment, an artiste management company owned by a popular local actress who's got a great bunch of contacts and network. It's one of the reputed artist management agencies here. Keep up the great work, am looking forward to seeing more of you on screen.

wow! Michelle, I can't believe that You've just took part into the V.M. show. I... mean that it's a great show and you are an talented actress. You're in the show?! what would that be? poor me, I've no chance to see you on this show.

I know the V.M. show about a month ago in my palcement which about art and social issues. I actually havn't seen the completed version, but some snapshots and how it import into the China mainland and how it act by the local artist under the leading of a professor of a univeristy in GuangDong. It do make significant affulence for the people who saw the show in China. I love indie films and some relevant art creation as they place more attention on human beings.

Michelle, the first time I know you just two weeks ago, in the Saving Face. It shown on the HBO. Your performance in SF is amazing! I do really hope you keep working hard on your acts so that your fans can get more chances to see you. keep going! ^^

P.S. will you come Hong Kong for the True North? looking forward

Really envy those people who can make it for your great show. How I wish you could make a 'live' performance in Asia (Perferably Singapore :), that'll be much much more accessible to us - from the other side of the world.

Warm Regards from Singapore.

hello there!
I'm a huge fan of saving face and since then I keep updating myself about films that you are currently doing. I just got my copy of Saving after a year of searching every video store here in Manila. Our society still here are not that open yet to such films with that storyline! sad to say! I met a friend through your blog so thanks to you! I'm looking forward to see and grab a copy of your film NANKING, I have read a book about it and dying to watch that film. It will help me a lot since I'm a history teacher and I want to shed some light with that part of China's history. I hope NANKING will reach the shore of my country!

Goodluck to you!!!!
