U.S. Election 2008
Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to encourage everyone to register and VOTE. This is truly a special election but if you're not registered by October, you may miss your chance to be a part of a truly historical election in America. Also, since my exposure to Burma and my participation in the PSA campaign (see past blogs), I've really become sensitive to participating in our political process. Please VOTE in this election.

XO,
michelle

Decisions are made by those who show up.

Whoever you vote for, let your voice be heard.

In Australia, voting is compulsory. We get fined if we forget to vote.

voting is important (really). in Brazil the people here hate vote because there is much corruption. The Brazilian knows that: it does not matter if the person is white, black, man or woman, when they are politicians they are different, unfortunately. instance in 2007 a girl was arrested in a prison with many men. Result: she was raped several times. The Governor, leader of the state, is a woman but it did nothing to take the girl from prison, because if she did this, it would be assuming that there was negligence. Then, she tried to hide the case. As people thought that a woman protect the other. So it really is, as you talked to vote, because over time people learn to read the politicians see the consequences and vote conscious. Congratulations for the blog and sorry my tarzan english.

Decision is not made by those who show up, but those who have made the biggest payoffs. There will always be red meat issues that are thrown at the masses so that they will vote a certain way, but those issues will be quickly forgotten and it becomes payback time to their paymasters.
